YLink #TuesdayTakeovers at The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha @ Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha

We’ve partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha to build up the next generation of Young Professionals. Volunteer as a positive adult role model for kids who attend the club after school.

We are looking for young professionals who can help kids with their homework, play in the gym, support reading  and have fun with the students who attend the club. Each third Tuesday of the month, we’ll coordinating volunteers for this session. Tuesday Takeovers will kick off November 13 from 4 – 5PM. Orientation will be available for all volunteers.

Interested? Please email info@ylinkenosha.com to get signed up. Please note all volunteers will be requested to complete a background check.

The YLink Nonprofit Board Prep Program is a comprehensive training program for individuals who are interested in serving on nonprofit boards. It was created as an exciting opportunity for young professionals to leverage their leadership skills – and gain an understanding for what it takes to become successful board members. A secondary goal of the program and of YLink is to increase the leadership role of the young professionals in Kenosha’s nonprofit sectors.

This annual program is a five-session series taking place on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., starting March 6, 2019. All workshops are held at the Kenosha Area Business Alliance Training Center, located at 5500 6th Ave., Suite 200, Kenosha.

The board prep training sessions are led by local community leaders who are experienced in serving on a variety of nonprofit boards within the Kenosha area. Training sessions include topics such as, 1) overview of nonprofit boards, 2) fundraising, 3) legal and ethical responsibilities, 4) financial management, and 5) strategic planning. Sessions include group and individual work, presentations and case studies.

Registration deadline is February 27, 2019.
